Source: U.S. Small Business Administration, 7(a) & 504 FOIA loan-level datasets, editions with data
as of 30 June 2026 (FOIA_7a_FY2000_FY2009, FOIA_7a_FY2010_FY2019, FOIA_7a_FY2020_Present),

To reproduce: download the three CSVs into raw/, then run code/01_load.py, 02_analyse.py,
03_extras.py and ch10_extras.py (Python 3, pandas, numpy). make_charts.py draws the book's figures
from the tables. The change-of-ownership flag is the lender-entered BusinessAge value; loss rates come
only from matured cohorts (FY2010-2015 and FY2005-2008). Method: Appendix A of the book.

T16_lender_rate_normalization.csv uses the book's illustrative worked deal ($580,000 of cash
available for debt service, 1.25 coverage, 10 years). Its cost column is the maximum loan divided
by 0.9, before working capital, closing costs and fees.
The 7(a) fee schedule covers FY2025 (both notices) to FY2027; the FY2024 notice could not be retrieved.
