Guarantee fee

A fee the SBA charges on the guaranteed portion of a 7(a) loan.

Scaled by loan size and maturity, and set each fiscal year through appropriations, so the schedule changes. It is usually financed into the loan.

Because it is financed, the effective APR on the money you actually receive is higher than the note rate.
