Who we are

What we collect

• Email address - only if you subscribe to the newsletter, and only after you confirm via a double opt-in email. Nothing is added to our list without that confirmation.
• Contact form content - if you write to us, whatever you choose to put in the message.
• Aggregate analytics - page views, referrer, approximate country, device type, collected in aggregate and not used to build a profile of you.
• Server logs - standard request logs including IP address, retained briefly for security and abuse prevention.

What we deliberately do not collect

We do not ask for and have no field anywhere on this site that accepts: a Social Security number, an EIN, bank account or login credentials, revenue or financial statements, a credit score, or a telephone number. This is structural. We are a publisher rather than a lender or broker, we take no applications, and information we never receive cannot be lost, sold, or subpoenaed.

Our calculators run entirely in your browser. Figures you enter into any tool on this site are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, are not logged, and are gone when you close the tab.

How we use it

Email addresses are used to send the newsletter you asked for and nothing else. Analytics are used to understand which pages are useful. Logs are used to keep the site up and to stop abuse. That is the complete list.

We do not sell or share your personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We do not sell, rent, or transfer email addresses to lenders, brokers, or data brokers. There is no “lead” product here to sell.

We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out request without you having to do anything else.

Service providers

A small number of processors handle data on our behalf under contract: our hosting provider (site delivery and logs), our analytics provider (aggregate traffic measurement), and our email provider (newsletter delivery and unsubscribe handling). Each is permitted to use the data only to provide that service to us.

Cookies

We use no advertising cookies and run no third-party ad trackers. See our cookie notice for what is set and why.

Outbound links

When you click a link to a lender, you leave this site and that company’s privacy policy applies to everything that happens next - including anything you type into their application. We do not receive a copy of it. Links to partners route through a redirect on our domain so we can count clicks in aggregate; the redirect passes no personal information because we hold none.

Retention

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which the address is retained only on a suppression list so we do not accidentally email you again. Server logs are retained briefly. Nothing else is retained because nothing else is collected.

Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the very small amount of personal information we hold, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act. The single most effective safeguard we have is data minimisation: an email address is the most sensitive thing in our possession.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither). Exercise any of them at your privacy choices or by writing to hello@fundingforbusinesses.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

Children

This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting subscribers will also be sent to the newsletter list.
